Its amazing how time flies. I cant believe the new born baby that I took pictures of last year (found here) is already one year old.
Here are some of the pictures from her first birthday. Memories like these only come once in a lifetime and I’m glad to be able to capture these memories that will last a lifetime
The progression in her first year
The cake was so intricate, I wouldn’t have the heart to cut it!
I thought this was a genius way of serving fruits
All these cousins share the same birthday month
And here is the happy family
She was a little hesitant about getting her hands dirty but below is how we ended!
This has been a long time coming. After over a year since their engagement shoot, I have the opportunity to post Somil and Ripal’s wedding pictures. Set at the Merion in Cinnaminson NJ, this was a two day long collection of festival – Just like most Indian weddings. Lots of colors, lots of guests and lots of fun!
I apologize for the large number of pictures on this. Trust me, I tried to narrow it down as much as I could!
Pre-Wedding included Santek – Getting blessings from ancestors, Haldi – beautification and cleansing of the bride and the groom and garba – a traditional western Indian dance
I love to watch the first time the bride and groom see each other on their wedding day…
With Indian weddings, the party begins even before the wedding starts! The groom comes to the venue with his family and friends dancing on the street.
Charmi and I go back a long way. We went to college together at Rutgers and have participated in a couple of events in college. We’ve tried to do a portrait shoot for a long time when we were in college but just couldn’t schedule it and we lost touch after graduation. In the mean time, she met an amazing guy in India – Shiven and fell in love with him. They got married a few months ago in India.
Charmi contacted me for an ‘After the wedding’ shoot which Shiven was giving her as a birthday gift. Below are the pictures from it! I dont think I’ve ever had so many B&W pictures in one shoot but for some reason, I kinda prefer them without color this time. What do you guys think?
Rarely do I get a chance to upload the pictures just two days after someone gets engaged but I finally have an opportunity!
Ambar and Dharti just got engaged on Nov 19th and had asked me if I could take pictures of the engagement party. Unfortunately, I already had a wedding to attend that weekend so I could not make it. However, what we did end up doing was taking some pre-engagement pictures that they wanted to use for the save the dates.
Ambar and Dharti are made for each other! Not only do both of them look stunning, but also their names complement each other. Ambar means ‘sky’ in Hindi and Dharti means ‘Earth’. How cool is that?!!
Check out the pics and let me know how you like them!
I did Somil and Ripal’s engagement party shoot in the summer and their portraits last month. I’m finally getting some time to upload some pictures! In the past month, I’ve been extremely busy with moving apartments and planning my own wedding!!
Anyway, back to Somil and Ripal. Somil is a long time friend of mine. He met Ripal via a friend. Ripal lives in the same community as him and their mums are friends too! Due to this, they started spending some time together and eventually fell in love!
We initially wanted to do the shoot at Grounds for Sculptures but for some reason, it was closed the day we decided to do the shoot so we ended up doing it in Philly where Somil went to college. It was a gorgeous sunny day with the only downside being that it was too windy. This was my first time in Philly so it was nice to explore the city.
Ripal and Somil are getting married in May 2012 and I wish them all best for their future
