Just a month after the pregnancy shoot, its my pleasure to do a new born shoot for Michelle. Join me in welcoming Kenley Bakken to the world!

This is certainly not the first new born shoot I’ve done but its definitely been a while since my last one so I was looking forward to it.

Poonam and Mithil: NJ Skylands Engagement Photography

Rarely do I get a chance to post engagement pictures on the day that a couple is getting married but today is that day! A BIG congratulations to Poonam and Mithil on their wedding today!

Poonam is old friend who has done a seemingly impossible task of planning an entire wedding in less than 6 months. For her engagement pictures, we chose NJ Skylands Manor in Ringwood NJ as the location. The entire place is absolutely beautiful but unfortunately due an ongoing wedding, we could not use the castle for the pictures. Never-the-less, Poonam and Mithil’s love and not mention Poonam’s grace made the location look even more beautiful!

How do you like the pictures? Which one is your favorite? Leave me comments below!

In his own words, Mahesh Kotagi is a Pharmacist by day and a Comedian by night. Having done numerous stand ups across the US, he is quickly becoming one of the popular south asian comedian. But unlike your Russel Peters, Mahesh doesnt just focus on south asian humor.

Check out his YouTube link for some of his work. Oh, and dont forget to check out his head shots below

NJ Family Photographer – The Simmons Family: Longwood Gardens PA

I had heard a lot about Longwood Gardens but this was my first time visiting the place. I was amazed at how big the garden was and all the different variety of flowers they have along with the fountain shows and the beautiful landscape. I love taking pictures of flowers but of course this time, I was here for a different reason- Shooting family pictures for Melanie and Jason. I had lot of fun shooting Jake and Joey’s pictures¬†last year so this year when Melanie asked me if I could do a family shoot for her, I was more than delighted!

Melanie and Jason are originally from NY but we decided to do the shoot at Longwood Gardens in PA while they were visiting her sister (and my former boss), Michelle. Michelle and her husband, Dan were of so much help in getting the kids to smile and look at the camera. They even helped me carry some lights!

Taking pictures of kids is more difficult than you might think. Along with the usual complexity of composition, lighting and exposure, you now have to make sure the kids are in a good mood, they look at the camera and you have to be super fast and precise about the focus to make sure you dont miss the moment. Jake and Joey, however are some of the most camera friendly kids I’ve ever come across and the fact that they are so cute just makes taking pictures so much easier and so much more fun! The kids had a long day with going to a Zoo in the morning and then walking almost a mile with us in the park. Any other kid would have been tired and cranky. Yet with Jake and Joey, even hours after the session started, the smiles kept coming, poses were not an issue and nobody was cranky. It was amazing!

Unfortunately, we hit a big thunderstorm before I could get some golden sunlight so we had to call it a day. I still think we got a few good pictures and I wanted to thank Melanie, Jason, Michelle and Dan with all the help with the shoot.

What do you think? Please leave some feedback below….

I remember last year when I took pictures of Jake and Joey. It was the first time I was experimenting with textures so this time around, I wanted to see if I can apply what I’ve learned in the past year.
